A few days ago, SAP’s global event Sapphire 2022 took place. Held from 10 to 12 May in the US city of Orlando, the company presented several of its new solutions for its customers.
As we did last year with the 2021 edition, in this ZTalent blog post we will take a look at the new innovations in SAP Sapphire 2022, as explained by SAP.
Supply chains and intelligent business networks
New innovations in SAP Sapphire 2022 were a set of applications that streamline the digital supply chain and empower workers with intuitive tools. The first two mobile apps, SAP Warehouse Operator and SAP Direct Distribution, were launched on the day Sapphire 2022 began. Both are now available on the Apple App Store. It is with this company that SAP has been working to develop these apps.
The SAP Digital Manufacturing Cloud solution, meanwhile, brings together, according to SAP, “the latest analytics, edge computing, automation and cutting-edge innovations that support end-to-end manufacturing processes to help customers optimise manufacturing performance”. As such, SAP Business Network continues to evolve as “one of the world’s leading business networks”.
In addition, SAP says that with the planned integration of Taulia software, customers will be able to “unlock the value tied up in their working capital”.
Sustainability as a key element
SAP has always shown a commitment to the environment. Many of its latest solutions are geared towards sustainable transformation, and the company encourages its customers to “stop the well-intentioned talk and take action”.
Some of the innovations in SAP Sapphire 2022 were presented to follow this path. For example, features were introduced in SAP Cloud for Sustainable Enterprises to “help innovate in key areas of sustainability management”. In addition, the SAP Product Footprint Management solution assists customers to “reduce the carbon footprint of products at scale with live connectivity to SAP S/4HANA Cloud, including transportation and travel capabilities”.
Accelerating innovation
Other new innovations in SAP Sapphire 2022 are geared towards accelerating innovation. This has been wrapped in a mantle of low-code and no-code tools, including updates to SAP AppGyver, a no-code development environment now integrated into SAP Service Cloud.
New capabilities have also been added for SAP Process Automation, a no-code solution for workflow management and robotic process automation. These capabilities are now available through the free tier of the SAP Business Technology Platform.
Enabling business process transformation
Another area of innovations in of SAP Sapphire 2022 was business process transformation. With major updates to SAP Service Cloud, there was a showcase of customers – including SAP – using RISE with SAP and S/4HANA Cloud. New or expanded partnerships with Accenture, Google Cloud, Microsoft, EY and IBM were also announced.
According to SAP itself, the latest version of SAP Service Cloud includes “new dynamic case management and case modelling capabilities“. The solution supports native integration with Qualtrics XM Discover and Microsoft Teams to “enhance organisations’ ability to deliver on their brand promise with better visibility, greater accountability and faster time to resolution”.
